Hunted is the 18th episode of the 2002-2003 season of The Twilight Zone. It premiered on November 13th of 2002.
Opening Narration[]
"Welcome to the near future, where a society free of violence suddenly finds itself threatened by a savage enemy. Now, Jeffery Freed is about to get a taste of the bad old days as he journeys into the wilds... of the Twilight Zone."
Plot[]
An elite special forces team in a futuristic society is sent into the wilderness to hunt and kill a wild creature which has killed several of their fellow citizens. When they get to the forest where the creature hunts its prey, it begins to pick off the team members one by one. As the team leader catches up to the predator, it captures him and takes the team leader to his lair. At the lair, it is revealed that the special forces team, as well as every member of the society that they live in are not human, but in fact cyborgs. The beast they hunt is a human, belonging to the same species that built the robotic society the team leader lives in. The human reveals that the cyborgs which now inhabit the earth hunted and nearly exterminated his species, and that he is the last human remaining. One of the other team members comes into the lair to rescue the team leader, and the two of them kill Earth's last remaining human - so they hope.
Closing Narration[]
"God created humanity in His image, humans created Jeffery Freed and his kind in their image. Extinction or evolution? I guess it all depends on your point of view."
