Dead Man's Eyes is the eighth episode of the 2002-2003 revival of The Twilight Zone. It first premiered on October 9, 2002.
Opening Narration[]
"Born into a life of wealth and privilege. Laurel Janus has always gotten exactly what she wants. But with the murder of her husband. Laurel's life of luxury has been shattered. Now, all she wants is to see justice done. A justice that can only be found in the Twilight Zone."
Plot[]
A distraught widow named Laurel Janus attend the trial of a man named Stanley Coe who is accused of murdering her husband Nicolas Janus. Later when she went to her car going through her husband's belongings, Laurel found her husband's glasses and puts them on and saw her husband's face in the rearview mirror. Later Laurel talks with her friend Becca about how she saw her dead husband through his glasses but Becca knows that it's not possible and tells Laurel to move forward. She packs all of her husband's belongings except his glasses which she puts them back on and put her into the scene of her husband's murder through her husband's eyes witnessing Stan and Nick having an argument which led to them having a fight in the livingroom of her house.
The next day Laurel and Becca talks about how the glasses put Laurel into the night of her husband's death. Later as Laurel listen to a message on the answering machine about Coe deserving a new trial of the murder, she puts on the glasses and witnesses Stan and Nick's fight in the livingroom and watches Stan about beat Nick up with a trophy but doesn't. She talks with a D.A Office member that Stan was not the killer, but someone else. Laurel puts on the glasses and follow her husband through his eye into the restroom where she saw Nick talking to the silhouette of a woman which Laurel believed to Becca thus believing that Becca was the one who killed Laurel's husband. When Becca grabbed Laurel's hand it caused her slam the glasses against the wall. Becca pursues Laurel to the restroom where put the glasses on again and witnessed that the one who killed her husband was herself not Becca which she watched in shock and horror as she saw herself beating Nick with the trophy. Becca and the police finally breaks through the restroom door and found Laurel. As the episode ends, Laurel sits in a cell saying she was the one who killed Nick.
Closing Narration[]
"Laurel Janus's vision of justice has finally come into focus. The verdict... guilty. Guilty of a life lived in complete denial. And now, serving out her sentence in a lonely corner of the Twilight Zone."
